The New York Mets released a 2012 spring-training schedule, calling for 15 games at Digital Domain Park.
The Mets will open their 2012 spring-training schedule Monday, March 5 against the Washington Nationals at 6:10 p.m. at Digital Domain Park in Port St. Lucie, Fla. That game will mark the first of 15 home spring-training contests. The team never wanders too far from the Treasure Coast and Atlanta: there are no trips to the Gulf Coast until the end of spring training, when the Mets and Yankees will play a home-and-home spring-training series for the first time since 1996. The Mets host the Yankees at Digital Domain Park on Tuesday, April 3 at 2:10 p.m. and travel to Tampa Wednesday, April 4 at 12:05 p.m.
In addition, Manager Terry Collins’ team will play the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals six times, the Washington Nationals, Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves five times each and the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers four times apiece during the 31-game exhibition schedule.
