Baltimore Orioles 2015 spring training schedule posted

Baltimore OriolesWe’ve posted our first spring-training information of the season: the Baltimore Orioles 2015 spring training schedule is now live and surprisingly early.

You can view the schedule here.

The schedule also confirms something else we posted in the last newsletter: games will begin the first week of March and run through the beginning of April. In the case of  the Orioles, the team’s Grapefruit League schedule begins Tuesday, March 3 with a 1:05 p.m. game in Lakeland against the Detroit Tigers. The Orioles will open their Ed Smith Stadium schedule the next day, with a 1:05 p.m. game against the Tigers.

There will be much of the same for Baltimore this spring, with only 10 different opponents during their 16-game home Grapefruit League campaign, hosting the Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays three times each, and the Minnesota Twins and Pittsburgh Pirates twice each. The other Orioles opponents at Ed Smith Stadium: Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals.

The same holds true of the Orioles away schedule, with 18 games against 1o opponents: three trips to play the Blue Jays and Twins, two trips to play the Braves, Pirates, Rays and Tigers, and one trip to play the Cardinals, Phillies, Red Sox and Yankees.

Tickets go on sale January 24, 2015.
