Pirates 2015 spring training schedule posted

We’ve posted the Pittsburgh Pirates 2015 spring training schedule, as the team preps for another exhibition season at McKechnie Field.

The 33-game Florida schedule consists of 15 home games and features the intrasquad “Black and Gold” benefit game on Monday, March 2.

The Pirates are scheduled to open their 2015 Grapefruit League season against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, March 3 in Dunedin, Florida. The Pirates will then host the Blue Jays the following day in their Spring Training Home Opener at McKechnie Field on Wednesday, March 4 at 1:05 p.m.

With the additions of a new boardwalk in 2013, along with the Left Field Party Deck and Left Field Bleachers, the Pirates established a club record in 2013 by drawing 93,433 fans. Despite three rainouts last season, the club drew a record average attendance of 7,587 per game and set a new single-game attendance record of 8,566 on Saturday, March 22 vs the Phillies.

Season tickets go on sale Monday, November 24, while single game tickets will go on sale on Saturday, January 24, at 10 a.m.
