More Collegiate Action on Tap for Spring Training 2019

Those heading out early to Phoenix for spring training 2019 will want to check out what’s happening at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, as a high-profile collegiate tournament is on tap for the spring home of the Diamondbacks and Rockies.

Major League Baseball is launching the new MLB4 collegiate baseball tournament featuring some high-profile collegiate programs, including the Vanderbilt Commodores, University of Virginia Cavaliers, Texas Christian University Horned Frogs, and California State University, Fullerton Titans. The inaugural MLB4 tournament is scheduled for February 15-17, traditionally the college baseball season’s opening weekend, and will be located at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. With the Diamondbacks and Rockies pitchers scheduled to have reported by then, the combination of training camp and baseball tourney could be an interesting one.

Teams will play three games during the MLB4 tournament. The game between Vanderbilt and Virginia on Friday, February 15 at 5 p.m. Arizona Time will air live on MLB Network and MLB.com. Highlights and game casts of all other MLB4 games will be available at MLB.com.

Feb. 15, 1 p.m., TCU vs. Cal State Fullerton
Feb. 15, 5 p.m., Vanderbilt vs. Virginia
Feb. 16, 1 p.m., Cal State Fullerton vs. Vanderbilt
Feb. 16, 5, p.m., Virginia vs. TCU
Feb. 17, 11 a.m., Vanderbilt vs. TCU
Feb. 17, 3 p.m., Cal State Fullerton vs. Virginia
