The 34-game Atlanta Braves 2014 spring schedule begins on Wednesday, February 26, with a home contest against the defending American League Central champion Detroit Tigers at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Braves will open the road portion of their spring schedule on Thursday, February 27, when they face the Tigers at Lakeland, Fla.
Braves’ pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report to camp on Thursday, February 13, with their first workout set for the following day. The rest of the Braves players are scheduled to report on Tuesday, February 18, with the first full-squad workout slated for February 19.
Atlanta will play a total of 17 home games at Wide World of Sports, as they play host to 10 different teams, including three games each versus the Tigers and the Washington Nationals, and two games each against the Houston Astros, the Miami Marlins and the New York Mets. The Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals and the Tampa Bay Rays will make one visit each to Disney.
The Florida portion of the schedule includes three home night games: Friday, February 28, versus the Astros; Thursday, March 6, versus the Nationals; Monday, March 24 versus the Astros.
On Saturday, March 29, the Atlanta Braves will travel to State Mutual Stadium in Rome, Ga., to take on the Braves future stars in an exhibition game at the home of the Single-A Rome Braves. Game time is slated for 1:05 p.m.
