St. Lucie County officials are still waiting on approval for a $20 million state grant toward the renovation of Tradition Field, spring training home of the New York Mets and regular season home of the St. Lucie Mets (High A; Florida State League).
If the plan moves forward as hoped, work would begin at the conclusion of the upcoming spring training season, and would be stretched out over multiple phases. Once the project is completed, Tradition Field would be equipped with a 360-degree concourse, renovated clubhouses, and improvements to amenities such as the box office and team store. The adjacent complex would also be renovated, with changes on tap for areas such as the clubhouses and batting cages.
