The biggest news for many fans will be the return of a St. Patrick’s Day game to Baycare Ballpark — an event that was sorely missed by many in 2021.
Grapefruit League play begins on the road for the Phillies, who will kick things off with a game against the New York Yankees on Saturday, February 26. The club will then host its Spring Training home opener on Sunday, February 27, against the Minnesota Twins at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.
Opening week of Spring Training also features home games against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday, March 1; New York Yankees on Wednesday, March 2; and Atlanta Braves on Friday, March 4.
The club will play 16 of their 34 Spring Training games at BayCare Ballpark. Home opponents also include the Pittsburgh Pirates, Toronto Blue Jays, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.
