Worth Noting: 2019 Spring Training Giveaways and Theme Days

Spring Training 2019After a few years where teams scaled back game-day promotions during spring training, 2019 will see more giveaways and theme days during February and March games.

These promotions include value-added ticket promos, targeted marketing (like Senior Days), and giveaways like bobbleheads and hoodies. In the past few years these sorts of giveaways were few and far between, but they are back in 2019. So plan accordingly. Here are some of the more interesting promos on the docket in Florida and Arizona.

Peoria Sports Complex has a full slate of promos, ranging from multiple Kids Days and Dog Days (where your pooches are welcome to camp out on the berm), with proceeds donated to the Arizona Humane Society. Peoria Sports Complex also has two giveaways on the schedule: a Seattle Mariners personal cellphone mini-fan on March 1 and a San Diego Padres earbuds case with key ring on March 7. More here.

A Bark in the Park is also on the schedule for the FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches on Feb. 24 and March 12. There’s a $5 admission for the dogs (donated to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue), with seating on the berm. In addition, there is a Washington Nationals bobblehead giveaway (March 7) and hoodie giveaway (March 12). More here.

There’s a full slate of promos at Goodyear Ballpark, including plenty of Happy Hours, Senior Days with discounted tickets ($25 ducats with $5 food voucher), kids’ on-field experiences, and a Feb. 23 Autograph Day. Also on the schedule: a Jose Ramirez bobblehead giveaway (March 9) and a Eugenio Suarez bobblehead giveaway (March 16). More here.

The New York Yankees are set for several giveaways at Steinbrenner Field in 2019, with a Didi Gregorius bobblehead giveaway set for Feb. 28 and a Hess Toy Truck Yankees Silicone Bracelet giveaway set for March 3.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been consistent in offering plenty of spring-training giveaways, and 2019 is no exception. On the giveaway docket: a Dan Johnson bobblehead (Feb. 24), a Rays tote bag (March 2), a Kevin Kiermaier Lunch Box (March 10) and DJ Kitty Slippers (March 16). More here.

Besides offering five Senior Days (discounted tickets with a hot dog and pop) at Hammond Stadium, the Minnesota Twins are giving away collectible pins to the first 3,000 fans on March 8 and 15. More here.

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a typical spring training without some St. Patrick’s Day specials. At Peoria Sports Complex, for example, fans can buy four 12-oz. craft beers for $20 at the Craft Beer Courtyard.
