The Phillies 2023 spring schedule with a split-squad season opener on Saturday, February 25, when they host the New York Yankees for a 1:05 p.m. game at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, and also play the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland.
The following day, the full squad will make its debut at home on Sunday, February 26, at 1:05 p.m. against the Minnesota Twins. Opening Week of spring training will also include 1:05 p.m. home games against Detroit on Friday, March 3, and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, March 4.
The Phillies will play 16 of their 32 spring training games at BayCare Ballpark. Home opponents will also include the Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox.
Another highlight is the annual St. Patrick’s Day game, which will be held at 1:05 p.m. on Friday, March 17, against the Blue Jays. (Interestingly, the pair will also face off that day at Dunedin’s TD Ballpark as well. Let’s hope the Blue Jays have scheduled a night game, making possible a cool day-night doubleheader.)
On Tuesday, March 28, the Phillies will close out their Spring Training schedule at home with a 12:05 p.m. game against Toronto.
Two days later the team will begin its 2023 regular season on the road, with its first game against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 30. The Phillies will then host the Cincinnati Reds for their Home Opener on Thursday, April 6 at 3:05 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park.
