Spring Games Outside Florida and Arizona

Spring Training 2017Not every spring-training game happens in Florida or Arizona. You may be able to catch some games closer to home, as teams have scheduled exhibition games across the continent in March.

The annual Las Vegas weekend series at Cashman Field features the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds on March 25-26. Now, Cashman isn’t the greatest of venues, but we’re still talking about Vegas, baby! Both games are at 1:05 p.m, giving you baseball and sunshine during the day and a casino experience or show at night. The Texas Rangers have made a weekend series at San Antonio’s Alamodome a spring training tradition. This year’s opponent: the Cleveland Indians. The Rangers will also be hosting the Kansas City Royals on March 31 (7:05 p.m.) and April 1 (1:05 p.m.) at Globe Life Park. Another traditional spring series has the Toronto Blue Jays hosting games at Olympic Stadium, former home of the Montreal Expos. These games are exceedingly well-attended. This Pittsburgh Pirates will be making the journey north in 2017, with games scheduled for March 31 (7:05 p.m.) and April 1 (1:05 p.m.). The Milwaukee Brewers have been working on concession upgrades at Miller Park this offseason, and those upgrades will be put through their paces on March 31 (7:05 p.m.) and April 1 (1:10 p.m.). And, of course, we have a spring-ending games in California. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will play three games at Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium before the season starts, while the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics will do the same at AT&T Park and the Coliseum.
