We have another 2015 spring exhibition game on the docket: the Miami Marlins will visit their Low Class A affiliate, the Greensboro Grasshoppers (Sally League), on April 3.
The first pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m. and gates opening at 1 p.m. This is the third big splash from the Marlins, having also played exhibition games in Greensboro in 2005 and 2010.
“We are excited to host our Major League parent club back to Greensboro next April,” said Donald Moore, Grasshoppers President and General Manager. “It is always exciting to have an exhibition game and in the process, showcase several former Grasshoppers currently on the Marlins’ Major League roster.”
The Grasshoppers announced in early September the extension of their player development contract with the Marlins through the end of the 2018 season.
“The Miami Marlins greatly appreciate our partnership with the Grasshoppers and are grateful for everything they have done for our players, staff and development process during the past 12 years. Greensboro is a premier organization in Minor League Baseball, and one we are proud to have as an affiliate,” said Brian Chattin, Marlins Director of Player Development.
Ticket pricing and details will be announced in the coming weeks, as final plans are solidified.
